Surfing

Selso and Davis were inspired by the surfers we saw a couple of days ago, so Selso arranged for each of them to have a lesson. Selso's lesson was yesterday morning on Playa Zicatela.

Selso surfed a bit in high school but hasn't done it since. Here he is waiting for a wave.

On his way!

He's up!

Davis's lesson was in the afternoon on Playa Marinero, since they have smaller waves. Here she is getting instructions from David, the bilingual instructor. He was really a great teacher.

She's up! She's down! She got up the first time she tried (after riding a few waves on her knees to get the feel of it). As usual, Davis makes everything look easy!

Of course, she did fall a few times, too!

She's got a knack for this! Davis said she had so much fun and even after a couple of hours, wanted to keep going.

Surfing into the sunset!

  2. Yay, Davis! That's awesome. Not much surfing on the Sound... looks like you guys might have to make a habit out of these pilgrimages south of the border.
